In the 1960’s, young evangelists reached out to help Christians in Eastern Europe who were persecuted and imprisoned under Soviet rule. Their conviction involved great risk and their courage did not waver when smuggling Bibles and preaching in the churches they could reach. As they travelled they experienced supernatural miracles and soon realized that there was no country they could not enter or border they could not cross if God told them to do so. This reality birthed the concept of ministries without borders® and imparted a renewed vision of the Great Commission that Jesus gave to us to "Go and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19)
Today men and women, empowered by the Holy Spirit, are reaching beyond the borders of self to reach God’s world with His love, Word and power. Together they are seeing communities transformed and nations changed as they apply this truth:
“The Spirit of the Lord is in me.
This is because God chose me to tell the Good News to the poor.
God sent me to tell the prisoners of sin that they are free,
and to tell the blind that they can see again. God sent me to free those who have been treated unfairly
and to announce the time when the Lord will show kindness to his people.”(Luke 4:18-19)
