bringing hope

The Rapid Response Unit works in partnership with Samaritans Purse International UK as a first response to individuals affected by man made or natural disasters and conflict. They specialize in meeting the critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine and epidemics throughout the world, delivering shelter, water & sanitation and healthcare, and most importantly hope in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • EUROPEAN REFUGEE CRISIS, MACEDONIA & GREECE. SEPTEMBER 2015

From the field: "Seeing hundreds of refugees arrive each day on the island of Lesbos in Greece, many of them families with young children, was shocking. It emphasised the level of devastation the current crisis in the Middle East has had on individual families. To be able to provide dry, warm clothing and blankets as well as food, water and later on shelter for people who had nothing, was a wonderful opportunity for Christ's love to shine brightly in a time of great need. It was a privilege to be part of meeting such simple needs for a people greatly hurt by the impact of man's actions."

  • Nepal Earthquakes 2015

From the field: "Heartbreaking scenes told the story in Nepal in the aftermath of the earthquakes. We distributed hygiene kits, sleeping mats, blankets, kitchen kits and tarpaulin to over 547 families. Navigating difficult Himalayan terrain, we were grateful to deliver food and temporary shelter into stranded rural villages. Thank you for bringing joy and comfort to many. Our efforts continue!"

  • Ebola Epidemic, Liberia.  2014 & 2015

From the field: "The response to the Ebola epidemic in Liberia was the most challenging situation I have ever faced.  It was also the most fulfilling. Sharing the love of Christ with people during an epidemic that caused fear and death to tear through communities was powerful.  We played a crucial role in providing medical treatment, training health care workers and operating treatment facilities in the face of this horrific disease."

  • Typhoon Haiyan, Philippines. December 2013 - January 2014

From the field: "It was a privilege to serve the people of the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan. The work they undertook themselves to rebuild their community in the face of such devastation was incredible. Coming alongside this devastated community to provide emergency shelter, food, health care, water and sanitation was a wonderful opportunity to show the love of Christ in action ."

  • cite soleil colera treatment centre in port au prince, haiti. June 2011

From the field: "Working at the cholera treatment centers in Haiti was an eye-opening experience. Seeing patients present in critical condition from having lost large volumes of fluid, yet responding rapidly to treatment with intravenous fluids and oral rehydration solution was very satisfying. It demonstrates that simple solutions save lives. It benefitted thousands."
